Staying Late

Some days my salaried job requires that I stay late. It's never because of something I need to do, if that were the case I would either put it away and go home, or take it with me.

When I stay late it's because our community services director is still working, 2ish hours after our program is supposed to close. Now that's all well and good, but it still annoys me to have to press on. Especially when I want to go deposit my paycheck and go to g.i.joe.

Oh yay, I get to leave now.

I thought I got out of NACURH

And rightly so, I did.

Now I have a job. But my job is almost the same as my work with NACURH. I still have a staff (albiet smaller) and I still have a hundred people telling me what to do (abliet less than the few hundred before) and there is still the drama with committees and whatnot. I mean come on. lol.

The major difference. I make 30k+ and go home at night, lol.

Though right now, I am hating data entry.

Into the wolves den

I have been summoned to a meeting with Gretchen and Kevin.

This should be unpleasant at the least.

Hmm...

Why lately do I feel an affinity for the movie High Fidelity? I can identify with the main character Rob, only in some ways and with some parts of his situation (other thing and ways not at all) and it's kinda scary, lol.

Happy-ish

So I am in an independent research with the head of the Journalism program at the University of Washington. During this research we post on an online blog called Seattle Politicore, at http://www.seattlepoliticore.org

Okay so it's pretty cool. I do research on Mondays, that is, Monday is my day to be up on the news and post stuff... Well you can't see it yet but at exactly 6am the website that I created will post something online for me that I've pre-written. I have been hoping that this would work because this way I can write stuff and then have it post later in the day so I don't have to be tethered to my laptop (like I have been for the past 3 weeks)... awesome.

Le sigh

I have a crazy list of things to do. Seriously, this list is the width of an 8x11 piece of paper. There are 20 some items to be done on it. Of course I'm leaving out the readings that I won't attempt to even catch up on until next week, and then there is other things.

The thing that is really wearing on my mind is the story that I have to write for Saturday night... I'm stuck in writer's block and I just can't get this together. I don't know how I can punch through this block and figure out what I am writing. I don't know what the problem is, but I just can't set my mind to typing or writing, maybe I'll sit down with a pad and figure out if I can get it together.

I have ideas, lots of them, all a jumble, but nothing is coming together in my mind.

This is my first post in a while, so that's good, but alas, I really need to get beyond this block and write, but so far I can't punch through. We'll see what happens later today.

Classes

So something I used to do quite often was post what classes I was taking and such.

So here is my class schedule, just classes, I'm omitting all extra curricular activities because I don't need 20 replys saying I'm an idiot for doing too much, like always.

The Song of Ice and Fire

Your Score: House Targaryen

63% Dominant, 81% Extroverted, 90% Trustworthy

Ancient. Noble. Passionate to the point of insanity. Transcending lesser beings, you are of House Targaryen.

You are a dominant personality—in fact, you are the most dominant of all eight house types. You will not suffer yourself to be ignored. You will not suffer yourself to be ruled. The phrase "I will not suffer myself to _____!" was practically made for you. You are willful, arrogant, and exceedingly dangerous to screw with. With a temper like yours, anyone stupid enough to saunter into your line of fire won’t soon forget their mistake.

You are also extroverted, which means that everyone in the world knows exactly what your intentions are. Unlike your cohorts (who hide behind smiles and courtesies and court politics), you think of it as your birthright to come riding in on an enormous dragon, breathing fire and fucking your siblings. Hey, what you lack in subtlty, you make up in style!

Finally, you are trustworthy. Your absurd amounts of power and borderline psychosis are not used unjustly. Unlike many, your general aims are just and true. You we bred for rule, and the fact that you cannot rest until you are doing so is not your fault. If you make up your mind, it becomes reality. Never one for empty threats or vainglorious lies, you can only speak the truth. And the truth is "fire and blood."

Representative characters include: Daenerys Stormborn, Rhaegar Targaryen, and Viserys Targaryen

Similar Houses: Baratheon, Lannister,and Tully

Opposite House: Frey

When playing the game of thrones, you play it to the death.

About that roommate...

he comes back and his only words to me are "I'm gone" I take this to mean that he is drunk, so he has some water and then stumbles out the door. If he wakes me up later, I'm gonna punch him in the jaw, jk.
nice.guy.charlie

You know you look like a nerd when:

The random freshman girl whom you've never met just walks into your open door holding her computer asking if you can help her get her paper back she thinks she lost.

Weird. Extremely.

And I'm waiting for my roommate to get back since I don't want to lock out his friend (another random freshman girl) who wants to print something but is waiting for him so keeps coming back every hour or so.

I swear, if I was single and better looking, I'd be in heaven.

I suck at life...

for not posting and basically falling off the face of the earth.

But with my new move into a building of which I will be for less than a month until I can move again into my year long billet. Well I've been busy.

I am surrounded by freshman, living on campus during interim is horrid. If I had done this years ago I would have never come back to the res halls.

I was interviewed by a guy from Higher Ed magazine today about res hall students and such, apparently as the director of the NSRO I'm just barely important enough to talk to. Nice.

Besides that news, I'm planning on getting a new laptop soon. More mobile and such, as well as a new desktop sometime in late Sept. This is very good news as my current laptop is on it's 4th year and slowly killing itself.

What will happen to my poor, dilapidated hardware? I'm trading it in, to my mom actually. I thought she could use it, because it's still in great working order and she has never owned a laptop.

My work in the office is okay, not as productive as I would like most days but not terrible.

Yet, I am extremely tired and I keep getting a headache at about this time every night. I think it's my atmosphere.
Anyway, I'm going to go read and such.

I went to sleep early...

Don't mistake my 2AM timestamp with another bout of me being an insomniac or just staying up late for no reason.

Don't believe that for a minute. I got ready for bed around 9:30, watched some TV until 10, read until 10:30 and went to sleep.

However, at 1:30 I woke back up feeling refreshed and ready to go. I figured it must be like 5am or something and I was just being silly. So I stayed in bed for another half hour until I picked up my phone and it was 2.

How disappointing to me. So I debated and got out of bed. I'll just stay up for 16 hours 20 or whatever until late tonight and then go to sleep and get on a real sleep pattern.

Well anyway, I'll probably get dressed and try and get some work done or something, or at least goof around since I'm up.

Viral Bronchitis...

It plagues me...

Why?

It all started with a bit of food poisoning. Followed up by a slight cough. After that I decided to see how things went. Three days later I wasn't feeling so well so then I made an appointment with a doctor and went in.

So I got there 10 minutes early, got in rather quickly. 20 minutes after some tests and a lot of other stuff I was informed that I had viral bronchitis and that there wasn't really anything I could do about it.

It could last up to a month or two, and only go away ever so slowly. Basically it's just a terrible cough and I still have a mild fever, so at 100 degrees I'm feeling just a bit warm where a couple of days ago I was so very hot to the touch it must have been 103 maybe a little higher.

I've been watching movies and tv and such going through everything.

Sadly I need to eat more, I haven't been able to stomach much at any given time.

Okay I have to go meet Tomas, he has a package for the office.

Slept terribly again last night.

I'm as sick, but I am dehydrated and such so I'm sure that's not helping.

I was so disorientated when I woke up that I had to look at a calendar to be sure that it was sunday. I also believed for a few minutes that I could only move in two dimensions at a time. I have no idea how my brain came up with that one.

I didn't believe I was a real person until I started writing this, I heard my roommates alarm and put in a disc of B5.

I'll give my dad a call in a few hours along with my grandfather, it's father's day after all.

Right now however, I'm going to curl back up and take some Advil.

Feeling much better...

Yesterday was rough.

The day started off just fine, I woke up, got ready and went into my office. I continued doing inventory of what we have left so I can start ordering things.

We had 8 more orders come in, and running it single handed kinda sucks, but it's actually really nice because I was noticing that I could run a small business if I wanted to.

Well that was the good part of the day. I got to see Jess and Ricky as they came into the office to do some work.

I left and went to mongolian grill to grab an early dinner, which went well again as I came home. But around 6pm or so I started feeling terrible. I was a little light headed but thought nothing of it.

I had planned on going for a run later in the day so I got ready and started out. Well I didn't jog for more than a couple minutes before I couldn't hold down my dinner/lunch.

Well that sucks of course but I felt much better after that so I started jogging back home because I didn't think I could do much more. As soon as my heart got beating with any kind of speed I felt really light headed and couldn't really see.

All these signs I couldn't really ignore, so I slowly walked home though I'm sure I looked drunk because I could hardly stand.

I came home and just went to sleep. I woke up every few hours to use the restroom and slept fitfully. I had a fever and just felt terrible.

Well I woke up at 8 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I could hardly move when I woke up, I felt like a ton of bricks had hit me.

I took a long shower and then watched a couple episodes of B5 and now I feel pretty good. I'm still a little warm but otherwise I'm doing so much better.

Now for a cause? Something I ate? Possibly. Beyond that I don't know.

Meh, okay, I'm going to go eat something because I'm pretty starved.

Days 1 and 2

Day 1.

Today was utterly boring. I woke up at 8am because I thought the rest of my stuff was arriving then (See: Day 0) but it didn't come until 11 so I was up waiting for nothing.

Then I unloaded everything into my new apartment.

I began to unpack. I was getting lots done until I finished a box and decided I was bored. Then on I couldn't really get motivated.

So I had lunch and played around, except my computer was in a diagnostic that I started because I figured I was going to busy anyway.

Then I got more unpacking done and my first roommate, Felix, showed up.

I went and had dinner, went for a little jog and worked out in the fitness center of my apartment building, then I got online to see the Vowels and went to sleep.

Day 2.

I slept well, got up around 9 and went into work by 9:30.

I went to the HUB to pick up my last check from my student government job (I'm no longer a state employee. Whoo!) then went to the post office and the bank stopping off at Subway for lunch and then Safeway for some groceries. (including some cherries which are delicious)

I arrived back at home to find my 2nd roommate, Anthony, moving in.

That's 2 roommates down and only 1 to go. We'll see who it is and how it all works out.

I think I'll do some reading and go for a jog.

Oh yeah,

Day 0.

I had to wait 10 hours to get into my new apartment because it wasn't cleaned so I hung out with Bethany for a bit and even met her dad Tom.

I finally got into my room and was able to get some stuff in except that my parents had already taken most of it home with them in a truck since I had to wait so long.

Okay cool.

Posting after a long while

So I'm pretty lame because I don't post very often. It's just that when I get busy I tend to neglect things. Starting with sleeping, then eating and on to everything online and such and so-forth.

Well anyway, I'm doing all right. Barely hanging in actually but not doing too terribly.

I'm enjoying a combination Friday night of tennis, archery and badminton. Last Friday was especially nice because Ricky and I are pretty evenly matched in tennis.

Then Archery came and I pretty much dominated, well Ricky couldn't see without his glasses (I guess his contacts just didn't have the definition needed to really see the target) and John was with us as well as Bethany and Jess.

I didn't do that well but at least I think that i didn't miss the target at all.

Finally we played Badminton for a bit, I took Ricky in two games and Bethany in a third before losing the fourth to Bethany by two points. Then we played a doubles match and Ricky and I won, then Jess and I won in a much contested match.

Well it's something about six in the morning here so I should grab a shower. Then I'll read some of my homework and then go to class of course.

Later everybody!

I had an interesting day...

It started off early this morning with my speech, which didn't go as I had hoped, but no problem. Next was French, which was wonderful. Then I grabbed lunch quickly, went to the bank and then skipped on down town for my tour at the Seattle Times. I had a great time there, also I learned about a job opening that I'm going to be applying for. It would double my pay of my current job and only add a few hours a week (if I quit other things, etc). So yeah, likeing it.

Really tired now, wanted to write more, but alas, I'm so very tired.
